3 Home Renovation Trends of 2008 that Should Die

It seems impossible that there could be enough quarries on Earth to supply all of the granite needed for American kitchen counters. But they keep finding more granite...somewhere. I kind of wish they would run out of the stuff, so we never had to look at it again. Granite is a prime example of home remodeling trends from 2008 (and before) that simply need to crawl away and die. While I faithfully cover granite because of its popularity, secretly I loathe the stuff. Expensive, prone to cracking, needs to be sealed, hot pans will scorch it, cannot be DIY-installed. Oh, and it's radioactive, too.
