Some things just don't go together, and when they don't go together. "Britney Spears" and "class" would be an example of an oxymoron.
For years, the biggest oxymoron in home building has been "green building" and MDF (medium density fiberboard). See, MDF is the stuff of cheap kitchen cabinets and IKEA junk. It may be medium density fiberboard, but I like to think of it as high density cardboard--just one notch up from a cardboard box.
Not only that, but MDF is laced with formaldehyde. I won't go into all the dangers of formaldehyde, but suffice to say it's not something to mix with the baby formula. But a number of MDF manufacturers are producing formaldehyde-free MDF. Door manufacturer TruStile does this, as well as promoting an MDF reclamation project. Says their website: "...scrap MDF is ground up and donated to agricultural partners. One partner is an organic dairy farm that uses the MDF shavings for cow bedding."
