House-flipping. Sounds so 2001, doesn't it?
Remember those days? We're all reeling from 9/11. Bush is President. Trading Spaces is the hot show. And house-flipping is the thing.
(House-flipping means to buy a house cheaply, remodel it cheaply, and sell it quickly. The profit margin is usually small, but hey--rinse and repeat, right?)
It's no longer 2001. We've moved past 9/11. Bush is chopping wood on his ranch--full-time. Trading Spaces' Paige Davis is no longer America's Favorite Gamine. And house flipping, at least as a cultural phenomemon, has passed out of fashion.
But you can safely flip a house--with no impact on your bank account and without irate buyers coming after you with lawsuits or shotguns. Shockwave has a game called House Flip that allows you to do exactly that. It's all online based, so no scary downloads necessary. Not only can you strategize your house-flipping (budgeting, buying, etc.), but you can also physically do some of the remodels. In repairing the window shown above, I managed to fix a few window panes and break a few, too. Just like real life.

It’s a fun game! Were you able to fix all of the window panes? If I was lucky, I could drop one or two panes in place, but after awhile I got frustrated and just dropped them all on the floor to save time.
Any tips on this?
