farmhouse style sink

My first impression of farmhouse kitchen sinks, years ago, was that they were little more than fancy laundry sinks.  After all, they are big featureless tubs designed to maximize space at the cost of style.

Of course, I was wrong.

Farmhouse kitchen sinks have really taken hold on the remodeling market in the last decade or so.  They let you fit huge pans or stacks upon stacks of dishes, and the front part (the apron) looks kind of cool alongside the kitchen cabinetry.

Because farmhouse sinks are not the typical drop-in (rimless) or undermount variety, they do require a different installation technique.  They must be supported from below, and essentially they represent a total break in the cabinetry.
