When I was looking for some kitchen tile ideas, I found a few unexpected things:
- There is such a thing as ready-to-hang kitchen tile backsplashes. These are made by Broan and fit well behind almost any stove. They look quite good, too. This eliminates mortaring, tile cutting, grouting, and all of the other mess associated with tiling.
- Metal kitchen tiles look pretty good (pictured). These come in 6" by 6" sizes and just peel and stick to clean surfaces. You can easily put up a kitchen backsplash in a day with metal tiles like these.
- Avoid the monotony of same-sized kitchen floor tiles just by introducing a tile of another size. For instance, 12" square and 18" square tiles can be combined in a pleasing pattern.
