Peeling Paint Fix: Wood Filler and Sanding

If you're painting your home's exterior, you can only pray that you don't have peeling paint.

Giant areas of peeling paint mean one thing:  scrape the whole thing down or replace the affected areas.  But what about smaller areas of peeled paint?  Who wants to replace a whole wall panel just for 1/2 sq. ft. of peeled paint?  No fear.  There is a fix for peeling paint like that.

If done with care, you will not even see the edges of the peeled-away paint after it has been re-painted.

It involves applying a very thin layer of wood filler (or "wood putty") and then sanding it down to the thickness of the surrounding paint.
