Unless you are careful, you will lose this battle of Person vs. House-Exterior.  Painting your home's exterior is a monumental undertaking.  It's not like picking up a gallon of interior eggshell to paint your powder room over the course of the weekend.

Not only is a house exterior much larger than any interior room you have ever painted, you have lots of other problems to contend with:

  • Cleaning - The exterior must be thoroughly scrubbed down and cleaned.
  • Prep Work - Because exteriors are weather-beaten, you'll need to undertake a significant amount of patching and sealing.
  • Weather - Interiors are a snap because the climate is always controlled.  But outside, the seasons are always changing.  Even within a season, the weather varies from day to day, hour to hour.

So, before that exterior painting project drives you crazy, read some tips on how to manage the monster.
