If you buy laminate flooring at Lowe's, chances are good you might end up with a product called SwiftLock Style Selections.
It's Lowe's current low-cost house-brand offering. SwiftLock refers to a proprietary technology developed and patented by Armstrong that locks both the long and the short ends of the laminate planks. Prior to this, the sides of laminate planks either floated free or locked with an inferior method. Armstrong's SwiftLock (also going under the name Lock & Fold) allowed for a laminate plank to be locked on all four sides, for greater overall strength.
