Around this time, your house will start to look like a house. That's because you're bringing in carpenters to frame out the house.

• Work up a framing order of needed lumber, nails, builder's felt or house wrap, and adhesives, based on your building plans.
• Wait for good weather before having the carpenters come in to frame the house. Framing is the basic "shell" of the house, minus siding and roof.
• Install windows and skylights.
• Install sheathing and siding.
• Have roofers come in and complete the roof.
