A pedestal sink is a timeless bathroom fixture that's elegant, saves space, and is typically a budget-friendly option. The only downside is that it doesn't provide any built-in storage in the same way a classic vanity does.

Its streamlined design fits with many different decor styles, and it doesn't take up excessive square footage. While it's a good way to keep the bathroom clutter-free, the storage issue can be a challenge.

Incorporate a built-in shelf into the wall above the pedestal sink for a space-saving storage alternative. Instead of jutting out and taking up visual space or blocking a wall mirror, it's compact while providing a surface to store bathroom essentials. Line it with the same tile as is used on the wall or floor to visually incorporate it and install a metal bar to keep items from falling.
