But Don’t Use the Drywall Sponger on Outside Corners...
Because of the drywall sponge’s pliability, it will not form the kind of flat and true ninety-degree angle that you are looking for. Only by using the more traditional drywall sander—the solid sander that requires insertion of sandpaper—can you achieve a razor-sharp corner.If the sponge is all you have, by all means use it. It’s not the end of the world if the corner is a bit rounded. But if it’s a choice between one or the other, leave the drywall sponge back in your shop.
