What is Greenwashing?

You may have heard the term Greenwashing. It combines "green" and "whitewashing" and describes the practice of deceptively marketing products as green when they are not. Some companies seek to capitalize on the trend towards being green, but they actually spend more money on their advertising budgets than they do creating products in an eco-friendly manner. The Federal Trade Commission publishes guidelines governing companies' claims on green products.
