Glossary: Crown molding

Definition: Long (10' to 20'), decorative, narrow strips of wood installed at the junction of the wall and ceiling. It is used either to disguise gaps between walls and ceiling or purely to improve the look of a room. Crown molding typically is painted white. Crown molding is a type of finish carpentry.
