In more than one instance when interviewing home remodeling contractors, they have mentioned the Thanksgiving-to-Christmas "remodeling season." That was news to me. Apparently, it's all about homeowners who plan to have relatives stay with them during Christmas--and realizing that the spare bedroom, second bathroom, or (fill in here) is in disrepair and must be remodeled. At least 4 weeks before relatives coming to stay, you'll have begun any of the following projects to bring your house to guest-ready condition. Set-up and pre-project negotiation time with the contractor is excluded from this timeframe: these are 4 week projects that begin with the first swing of the hammer.
