Laying Down New Flooring in 4 Weeks or Less

Laying down new flooring of any type is entirely possible within a four week timeframe. Of course, some types of flooring go down faster than other types of flooring.

Much of this depends on the state of your current flooring. Do you intend for the new flooring to go on top of it? Or will you need to pull up your current flooring?

Good news: except in cases of the most dilapidated flooring, you won't find that you need to rip up all flooring and substrate down to the joists.

  • Worst case scenario is pulling up existing flooring, laying down new subfloor, then installing new hardwood. In a 1,500 sq. ft. house, you may expect to accomplish this in two weeks of concentrated work, but hopefully one week.
  • If it's laminate flooring you want, this stuff goes down fast. If the subfloor is ready, experienced floor installers can cover several rooms within one day.
