Gray Water

By Lee Wallender, About.com

Definition: Gray water is the discharged water that is neither fresh, potable water nor sewage. If sewage is the product of toilet flushes (enough said on that point!) and potable water is the drinkable water that comes straight out of the faucet, gray water is the type of water that goes down sink drains, bath and shower drains, and appliance (dishwasher) drains.
Alternate Spellings: grey water, graywater, greywater
Examples:
The plumber noticed that the gray water outlet was not functioning properly.
