Sear Craftsman tools always get a bad rap from discerning--or perhaps snooty?--tool buyers and users. Yet Craftsman has put out many solid tools over the years. The only problem is that Craftsman tends to be known more for their solid-state tools, like wrenches, screwdrivers, and socket sets; their cordless drill offerings rarely match up to those of Makita, DeWalt, Bosch, Skil, Black & Decker, or others.
This 20v lithium ion drill is a good try. Its massive battery, designed for people with strong wrists, will power you through an entire work day and maybe even more.
Yet its got a few funky features that gave me pause. For one, the auxiliary handle has a "shield" of some type that blocks your view of the action from low angles. A minor point? Perhaps.
This Sears cordless drill does have a generous 2 year warranty. That's one thing that Sears has always been famous for.
