The Bottom Line
The Skil® Lithium Ion 18V 5 3/8” Blade Cordless Circular Saw Model is a nice, light-duty circular saw. While it will never replace your corded circular saw for ripping thick plywood or cutting heavy dimensional lumber, it's a great tool to have on hand for the 95% of other tasks that don't require monster tools.

Guide Review - Skil® Lithium Ion 18V 5 3/8” Blade Cordless Circular Saw Model 5995 and 5996
I liked the feeling of the Skil® Lithium Ion 18V 5 3/8” Blade Cordless Circular Saw. Getting rid of the cord is truly a liberating feeling for circular saws. While it's possible to tolerate a cord with reciprocating saws or jigsaws, it's downright annoying with circular saws. You just know you're going to slice through that cord some day soon.
This Skil cordless 18V circular saw has enough staying power to chew through 1/2" plywood or fiberboard. Its blade changes out nicely. The battery has built-in indicators telling you how much juice you have left; no need to dock it to the charger to get this information.
