How to Find a Stud in a Wall

Find Right Side of Stud with Stud Finder

This is the same as the previous step, but coming from the other direction.

Place the stud finder about six to eight inches to the right of the general location of the stud. Press the button on the stud finder. Slowly slide the stud finder left-ward.

When the stud finder beeps or lights up, mark this spot. This is the right side of the stud.
