Remove Siding to Replace Windows?

By , About.com Guide

Are you in the unfortunate position of removing siding for a window replacement job? Don't despair.

You'll probably want to reuse the current siding, because new siding will be difficult to match in terms of color. One tip you'll want to use: use a Sharpie or carpenter's pencil to number the back of each removed siding piece. You'll find that each piece of siding has its own "home" and needs to be replaced in the same position. By numbering the siding pieces, you don't have to worry about which piece goes where.
