Describe Your Bathtub Refinishing Experience
This experience has been a total disappointment. The bathtub has begun to chip and I notice these gray spots as if there was mold building underneath the glaze. The LLC contractor was very sloppy. We had our bathroom floor and surrounding tile done as well with a stone like finish and some areas were poorly treated and they did not clean the corners and painted over the dust. He gave us a 5 year guarantee but the guy is no where to be found. He promised to come and redo the tub and we are still waiting. Both tel. #s are cell phones and we can only leave messages.
Who Was the Refinisher? What Did They Do Wrong/Right?
He has not fulfilled his contract to date even after numerous calls. On two occasions he actually responded and set up dates and times and never showed nor did he call us with an excuse. One of the phone #s listed in the contract is disconnected. Although floors turned out a little better some spots were done sloppily. The bathtub is chipping and spotting. I do not know what recourse we have legally. I have looked all over for this so called AM Reglazing LLC on the Internet and in the Yellow Pages. The contract has no business address to go to. He did take before and after pictures of our bath. I wonder if he has used them in his sales pitch.
Lessons Learned
- Read carefully. The contractor did not supply the contract the day he came to give us the free estimate. He showed us before and after pictures. We should have been suspicious at that point but when we asked him about it he said he guaranteed the work and his that the business was up front. When we had the contract in front of us we should have noticed that the only way to contact this person would be by phone and I never thought to ask about a license. He had an honest face (do not go by that) and he was so respectful. Con artists usually are, aren't they? Get references. Use a local person with a real address.
