window woes
- This is not a response but rather a plea for help. I've moved into a 4 floor apt. building. Three casement windows are all along the same side of the building. The giant problem is that the windows are somehow afixed so as not to open beyond a five inch gap making for very poor air ventilation. I cannot ever get my apt. to cool off to my satisfaction and am now having much trouble with sleep due to the heat. Owner refuses to deal with the issue. For the life of me I cannot figure out how these windows are afixed so that I cannot open them up myself. No visible locks or obstructions to be found. Any ideas? I'm desperate. FROM ABOUT.COM I am guessing that this landlord or a previous landlord changed those windows so that they will intentionally not open--so as to reduce liability for them in case a child or anyone else falls out.
